General Situation of Indonesian Society

Indonesia is a rich country , but don't forget the word 'actually' behind it. So, is it natural for the condition of our society as we are experiencing right now?
First, in the realm of natural resources, Indonesia has abundant natural potential. The scattered mountains make most of the Indonesian archipelago fertile and suitable as agricultural areas. Not to mention the tropical climate which is increasingly friendly to all kinds of plants, both food and non-food. And do not miss Indonesia's geographical location which is very strategic in world maritime traffic. The territory of Indonesia is also located between 3 tectonic plates so that this makes Indonesia's land rich in copper, gold, lead, oil, natural gas and other mining products.
Second, the Indonesian people are no less rich. The population ranks second in the world after the United States as reported by the World Bank, 2015. The majority of Indonesian people are workers with the largest composition, namely peasants who make up 65% plus laborers 20% of the total. This shows that Indonesia has productive manpower reserves to develop the country to become more advanced and prosperous. but how is the state of this society? these workers and society in general?.
Third, Indonesia is rich in cultural and ethnic diversity. The number of Indonesian ethnic groups reaches 1,128 ethnic groups with 746 regional languages or around 10% of the total 7,000 languages in the world. However, this multicultural condition is also prone to being used as a ruling class that provokes to divide the people in the form of chauvinism and religious sentiments.
Indonesia's Position and Main Problems.
Indonesia is currently in a semi-colonial (semi-colonial) and half-feudal (semi-feudal) position. Which position makes Indonesia as:
– Areas of raw material sources – Sources of cheap labor providers – Markets for imperialist products – Targets for export of capital
Half Colony. Why can you say that? We all know that Indonesia is under the domination of the imperialists, especially the United States. This can be likened to a country that has legs but does not have the right to move its own legs. All activities will be dictated by the ruler above the ruler. And state officials will only serve as watchdogs and servants for the authorities above them. Besides that, the semi-feudal character can also be seen from the many large foreign companies that are entrenched in Indonesian soil. Call it Exxon, Freeport, Adidas, Honda, Carrefour and many more. This is in line with Indonesia's position as a provider of cheap labour, as a market for imperialist products and also as an easy export target for capital. So where is the role of government? once again the government is only a watchdog that secures the position of these imperialists to achieve their goals. Which in the end we can see from the policy packages that were issued and of course they were pro-imperialist. Call it the Oil and Gas Law, the Water Resources Law, the Labor Law, the Foreign Investment Law and so on.
How is Indonesia in the eyes of the world? with its involvement in various international organizations such as the IMF, WTO, World Bank, United Nations? Isn't it a matter of pride that the name 'Indonesia' can be on a par with other developed countries? and the Red and White Flag can fly among the flags of those countries too? It's not wrong, but in fact the existence of these organizations is only a tool to achieve the goals of those in power and continue to want to dominate. The IMF ensnares countries such as Indonesia with debts and interest which are growing every day, the WTO as a divider between regions of power to market the products of the rulers, as well as the United Nations and others.
Half Feudal. This can be seen from the practice of land monopoly by a handful of people while millions of other people experience poverty and are underdeveloped, especially in rural areas, such as the Sinar Mas Group, Indofood Group, Gudang Garam and so on. Agricultural and plantation products which are only intended for the continuity of the investors' industries. While farmers continue to sweat with rewards that are not even enough to meet their daily needs.
The question is, What should we do?
The last is the grouping of classes that exist in society. From this class analysis will be the basis for us to direct the struggle. Knowing who we have to defend and who is our true enemy. Combining the power of the oppressed classes to then destroy the right groups as the oppressing classes to achieve a just and prosperous state that humanizes human beings and there is no oppression of the nation on the nation or the state on the state.
